A new Pokemon anime is on the way and it's set to start its run in 2023. It looks like this new series will be a welcome change from the countless Ash adventures we've seen over the years.

It will follow a pair of brand-new characters named Liko and Roy. They will travel to the region of Paldea to find new Pokemon and battle skilled trainers.

Ash Journey Ends

Ash Ketchum and Pikachu have been the faces of Pokemon for two-and-a-half decades, but they're about to hang up their caps. The anime is switching gears to the Paldea era of the series, and new human protagonists Liko and Roy will be taking the lead.

The Pokemon Company has revealed the first details about the upcoming Pokemon 2023 anime, and we now know exactly when it will premiere. The new series will debut on April 14th in Japan and follow two completely new characters named Liko and Roy.

While we're sad to see the return of Ash and Pikachu, it looks like this new story will have a lot of heart. We can't wait to see how this story unfolds.

This new Pokemon 2023 anime will focus on the three starters from the Paldea region, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, as well as the Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza. We'll get to see them in action as they embark on a journey of their own.

New Characters

The Pokemon Company has just announced four new characters to be featured in the upcoming anime, which will premiere in Japan on April 14. The new crew is called Rising Volt Tacklers and works under Professor Friede.

The first character revealed is Orio, who will be voiced by Ayane Sakura and is a mech-love. Her partner Pokemon is Metagross.

Mardock, meanwhile, will be a Rock-type fighter whose partner Pokemon is the cute Rockruff. He will be paired with Morii, another healer, who will also be teamed up with Chansey.

Finally, we have Landou, a fisherman-like elderly man who will be voiced by Ikkyu Juku. Details are scarce on Landou, but he will likely be an interesting character to explore.

The Pokemon Company announced these new characters in a video released on the official YouTube channel earlier today. The series will be directed by Saori Den and will air in Japan on April 14 with a one-hour premiere special.

Pokemon fans are in for a treat, as The Pokemon Company is planning a new anime to follow Ash Ketchum and Pikachu’s adventures. Right on the heels of Ash becoming a Pokemon World Champion in November, the company has announced that this anime will begin in 2023.

The series will feature new protagonists, Liko and Roy, who will journey to Paldea together with the three Paldea starter Pokemon. This is a big change from previous series where Ash was the star.

It’s also a great opportunity to show off Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Paldea region, which hasn’t received much spotlight in the original series. Plus, it’ll give the Paldean variants of some of the game’s new breeds of monsters their moment to shine.

The anime will premiere in Japan with an hour-long special on April 14, 2023, but it’s not known when it’ll be released in North America or dubbed into English. The official trailer for the anime features Minori Suzuki as Liko, Yuka Terasaki as Roy and Taku Yashiro as Professor Friede. Ikue Otani will also reprise her role as Captain Pikachu.

Concluding

The Pokemon anime has been a staple of Japanese pop culture since its debut in 1995 and fans are about to experience a brand new adventure when the series wraps up in 2023. In the anime, a pair of new protagonists will take on a series of adventures in the Paldea region.

The new story is set to introduce Liko and Roy, a pair of friends who travel the world together and explore the Pokemon world. Their journeys will be filled with plenty of adventures and battles.

The series will also bring in a new set of characters and creatures to the Pokemon universe. Grass cat Sprigatito, fire croc Fuecoco and duckling Quaxly are all expected to make appearances in the series.
