One Piece Episode 1053 - Momonosuke Struggles to Stop Onigashima

The battle between Luffy and Kaido continues on Onigashima while Momonosuke attempts to create Flame Clouds. However, the clouds quickly dissipate.

Yamato notices that Onigashima’s power is weakening, as the bedrocks crack and the flame clouds around the island start to fade away. They have to find a way to stop Onigashima from crashing into the Flower Capital.

Kaido vs. Momonosuke

Kaido and Big Mom decide to form an alliance to acquire the Ancient Weapons and One Piece and join forces against Luffy’s crew. They plan to use the Nine Red Scabbards, Kozuki Momonosuke, and Oden to read the Poneglyphs that reveal their location.

Meanwhile, Sanji continues his fight against Queen and reveals that his Germa modifications have begun to kick in. This might be related to the fights against Kaido and King as well.

Kin’emon, Denjiro, Ashura Doji, and Dogstorm try to attack Kaido but he is too strong for them. They recall a time when Oden offered to teach them his Oden Two-Sword Style, but they declined.

The Akazaya Nine and Izo continue their quest and are confronted by Kanjuro, who uses her past against her. They are soon overwhelmed by Kaido’s strength and are forced to retreat.

Yamato tries to protect Shinobu and Momonosuke while Sasaki fires his Armored Corps at them. She knocks out one of his men but the two are unable to avoid her attacks.

Yamato and Luffy

Luffy asks Yamato to help him with the situation. She agrees but tells him he must kill Kaido. She also tells him that she didn’t want him to get hurt.

Meanwhile, Big Mom arrives at the Performance Floor and announces that she’s joining Kaido to collect Ancient Weapons. She’s planning to use them to bring war and fear to the Flower Capital.

Upon learning this, Orochi refuses. He believes that he’s the only one who can save Wano, and he knows he must act fast.

In the meantime, Prometheus and Kanjuro continue to chase Nami, Carrot, and Zeus while Big Mom tries to capture them. She uses her Bolo Breath to strike them but Luffy is able to dodge it.

As a result, she’s unable to attack them, but the Akazaya Nine and Izo arrive. They’re accompanied by Kanjuro who uses their past against them.

Sanji vs. Queen

The last episode of One Piece had left its fans in anticipation. They were excited to watch how Momonosuke and Yamato would ensure the safety of the Flower Capital.

However, the tense situation continued on Onigashima. The boulders kept dropping from the island, which was causing the bedrock to shatter. This made the island unstable, which was why Momonosuke and Yamato were trying to stop Onigashima from crashing down.

While Momonosuke and Yamato were busy trying to avoid the rocks, Sanji continued his fight with Queen on the Performance Floor. The battle between Sanji and Queen was intense, as Queen tried to force her way into Sanji’s raid suit.

When Queen attacked, she hit Sanji hard and he thought he broke some bones. But, he feels fine afterward. He also cut off one of the spikes on King’s mask.

Wano’s Flower Capital

One Piece episode 1053 saw Oda tackle several plot points that have been hinted at throughout the series. First and foremost, Pluton was revealed to be right there on the island of Wano — which is actually part of Mt. Fuji, a volcano that can last erupt for a long time before it goes dormant.

This revelation was very exciting for fans as it ties in with some of the plot points we have seen so far. Another big reveal was that of the new emperors of the sea and their bounties.

Meanwhile, Luffy and his crew have reunited at their meeting spot in Wano to help Momonosuke take back the throne from Kaido. But Kaido’s still bitter about the loss of his SMILE Fruit operation in Dressrosa and is determined to get revenge. He even has the samurai in charge of the Fire Festival arrested! With this, the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance has more work to do before the raid on Onigashima.
