Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 - Will Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 Have an Anime Original Ending?
One year after the manga’s ending, Attack on Titan continues to be a favorite for many anime fans. It’s widely known for its plot twists and the devastating manga ending that still sparked heated debates one year later.
Attack on Titan is one of the most acclaimed anime series of all time. It has received a global fan following thanks to its grim storyline, macabre action sequences, and nuanced social and political themes.
Based on the manga by Hajime Isayama, the series has been adapted into an anime that ran for 34 volumes over nine years. While its ending proved controversial, it isn’t unheard of for an anime to change an ending from its source material.
How likely is it that Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 will have an anime original ending?
While the original manga is only 139 chapters long, MAPPA is planning to adapt it into a 30-episode final season for the anime. That means the finale will be the shortest “season” yet, so we have to hope that they are able to include an anime original ending.
The final season begins with the Scouts making a trip to Marley to visit Azumabito and her home, where they witness the persecution of the Subjects of Ymir firsthand. Hange hopes to ally with the group and forge peace.
But before they can go, Marley cracks down on the subjects of Ymir by conducting blood tests to test for the Titans, and Hange learns that Annie was the Female Titan. The group enlists the help of two soldiers who happen to be Marlowe and Hitch, Annie’s friends in the Military Police.
Hange then interrogates Eren and Historia about their plans and asks them where they are going. Historia reveals that she is pregnant and living with her farmer who she knew from her childhood. But she isn’t sure if she can trust Eren.
MAPPA has become known for its unique style of animation and has worked on some of the best animes around. Their first original anime series was Terror in Resonance and they have since produced a number of highly-acclaimed titles such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, The God of High School, and Vinland Saga.
When MAPPA was announced as the studio to animate the final season of Attack on Titan, fans were ecstatic about the news. The studio took over the project from Wit Studio, which animated the first three seasons of the show.
However, with so many projects on the schedule, MAPPA animators found it hard to keep up with deadlines and responsibilities. This ultimately lead to the production company’s decision to split the final season into two parts.
As a result, Attack on Titan fans are now enraged at the studio for breaking the manga’s original ending into two parts. They think that the anime would have been better served if it was released as one full-length movie.
Nonetheless, MAPPA has reassured fans that the anime will not be delayed and will continue to air as planned. In fact, the studio has been working on a number of new adaptations such as Chainsaw Man and the second season of Vinland Saga. With this, MAPPA’s workload is expected to grow even more in 2023.
Will MAPPA Animate the Manga’s Original Ending in Anime Final Season Part 3?
MAPPA, or Maruyama Animation Produce Project Association, is an animation studio that was founded in 2011 by veteran animator Masao Maruyama. MAPPA was established to escape the pressures and restrictions that Maruyama experienced at his previous studio, Madhouse, and it has since gone on to produce a number of highly successful anime series.
Besides Attack on Titan, MAPPA has also animated popular series such as Dororo, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Parasyte: The Maxim, which have all received great critical acclaim. Currently, MAPPA is working on a new anime series, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, which will begin airing in 2023.
While MAPPA has produced many stellar anime adaptations over the years, the studio itself is no stranger to controversy. During its early days, the company struggled with production problems that forced it to release two separate seasons of Attack on Titan, and this is why some fans have been calling for an Anime Original Ending (AOE) for the manga.
