Rurouni Kenshin is getting a new anime adaptation. It's being adapted from the very beginning of the manga and it's set to debut in 2023.

The anime is being animated by Liden Films and is scheduled to premiere on Fuji TV's Noitamina anime programming block. It's directed by Hideyo Yamamoto and it's written by Hideyuki Kurata.

The Story

Rurouni Kenshin is an adventure, romantic comedy anime series that was created by Nobuhiro Watsuki. The story follows a wandering swordsman, Kenshin Himura, who dedicates his life to protecting others and preserving peace in Japan.

When he finds himself helping Kaoru Kamiya defeat a man who claims to be Hitokiri Battosai, who killed her during the Bakumatsu, she invites him to stay at her dojo. They soon become friends as Kenshin strives to live by his new pacifist ideal.
